Serving at the Food Fair on February 17th, 2018.

Don’t you want to make a permanent commitment to evangelical life and live the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ after the example of Saint Francis of Assisi?
Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) is the answer for brothers and sisters who are searching for the right vocation.
Secular Franciscans are people who have been attracted and captivated by the Spirit of Saint Francis and St. Clare. We believe that the call to follow St. Francis is a gift from God who loves us.
We come together in fraternity to pray, reflect on our Franciscan charism, and socialize.

We seek always to deeper our understanding of our call to follow Christ in the spirit of Saint Francis and St. Clare. Our Fraternity becomes our extended family, where we experience the love and support of our brothers and sisters.

with Fr. Reynaldo Legayada, OFM

Our Spiritual Assistant is Fr. Reynaldo Legayada, OFM, at the end of February 2019 he was assigned to St. Francis of Assisi Church in the Catholic Sapporo Diocese, he remained in our fraternity as the distant Spiritual Assistant but in December of 2021 he stepped down from the office.

A profession in the Order is not automatic but there are three (3) steps toward full membership.

The first step is a period of initiation which normally takes 3 months, Aspirants are given basic information on the personal and fraternal life of Franciscans.
The second step is a period of initial formation or novitiate, which lasts for roughly 18 months, At the end of the Initial Formation, with the consent of the Fraternity Council, candidates are admitted to the profession.
The newly Professed Secular Franciscan will start to witness the gospel life as his or her vocation, a gift given by God, a journey toward the greater holiness and deeper happiness in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Professed members share and offer prayers, and give encouragement to one another. We live a life of humility and the love of God. We are the visible sign of the church. Franciscan way of life is a daily conversion.
